Home School Workshops

What:   Workshops designed to help home school families deliver life science content to their students. All workshops include live animals and biofacts (animal specimens) in the classroom, hands-on activities, and tours of the zoo.

Who:    Home school students ages 6-12

Where: Denver Zoo

When:  Spring Session:  March 3-5, 2009
            10:00 am-3:00 pm each day

Cost:    Both sessions include 3 consecutive days
            Members - $125 / session; Nonmembers -
            $135 / session
            Scholarships are available

Spring 2009 Session

March 3, 4, and 5, 2009

Ages 6-8:  Call of the Wild

  • Why do lions roar, bees dance, and lemurs fight with stinky tails?  Explore the wild world of animal communication with us to discover the answers!  Use all of YOUR senses to uncover the many ways that animals keep in touch.

Ages 9-12:  Destination: AFRICA!

  • Spend 72 hours in Africa, exploring the diverse ecosystems of the 2nd largest continent and its residents-those with two legs as well as those with four!
Delve into conservation issues in the region with Denver Zoo experts who will share their conservation projects and find ways that you can help!
