How to Register – New Process for 2008
You asked, and we listened! Due to overwhelming feedback from registrants, Summer Safari registration will now be submitted online only. Please read the information below before you register, for pointers on the new procedures. Registration begins Monday, February 4.
REGISTER ONLINE AT HOME, OR ONLINE AT THE ZOO
Camp Registration opens on Monday, February 4.
From your computer or at the Summer Safari kiosk in the Guest Services building at the zoo:
- After you have reviewed all class descriptions, the class schedule, camp fees and registration tips, click the Register Online link.
- If you are a zoo member, you will need to log-in to receive member rates for camp. Your log in is your member ID number (6 digits). Your password is your zip code (5 digits), unless you have previously used our online registration system and changed your password information.
- Simply follow the step by step process to complete your registration! Read the Important Tips section below before you start to make your registration process more streamlined.
- Registration at the zoo Summer Safari kiosk is available February 4-29, Monday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm. A Summer Safari representative will be available to walk you through the online registration process during these times.
ARE THERE OTHER REGISTRATION OPTIONS?
- No. We are no longer accepting mail-in or fax-in registrations for Summer Safari. If you do not have at-home internet access, please visit the zoo’s Summer Safari Registration kiosk, or visit your local library for access.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR REGISTRATION EASIER… IMPORTANT TIPS
- All registrations are entered on a first come, first served basis.
- Once you begin selecting class choices and holding spots in the system, you will have 15 minutes to complete registration before your session will be timed out and you will have to begin the process again; the spots you had selected will not be saved. Being prepared with choices ahead of time will help you complete registration efficiently.
- Children must be registered for the grade they will be going into this fall. (Children registered for the Pre-K sessions must be age 4 by the date the camp session begins.) We reserve the right to cancel and refund registrations for children registered in sessions that do not match their age/grade.
- Camp sessions for Pre-K through grades 2-3 each offer two class topics. You may register for a maximum of one week in each class topic. Camp sessions for Grades 4-5 offer only one class option, so maximum registration per child is one week.
- Children can only be registered by their parent/legal guardian.
- Due to the nature of online registration, in which multiple users can be registering at one time, it may be difficult to secure a large number of spots in the same class. (This is a consideration if you are trying to coordinate registration for multiple children of different families in the same class, such as friends or neighbors.)
- Summer Safari classes fill up quickly. The system will notify you if the session you’ve selected has already been filled. To save time, be prepared with the following before logging in:
- 3 or more age-appropriate class title/date options for each child.
- Your selection of Summer Safari add-on options ( i.e., will you be signing your children up for Early Drop Off and/or Late Pickup Supervision? Will you be signing your full day camper up for zoo lunch? Will you be ordering extra camp t-shirts for your children? In what size?)
- Your children’s allergies or special needs, their birth date, grade entering in the fall, emergency contact numbers, and the names of people other than yourself who are authorized to pick your children up.
- If you find that the class you wanted is already full and would like to be placed on the waitlist, please email us at safari@denverzoo.org with the specific class title, date, and your contact information.
- After registration is confirmed, the Denver Zoo adheres to a NO-REFUND, NO-CREDIT, NO-SUBSTITUTION policy. If your children are unable to attend, please consider your payment a tax-deductible donation.
- Scholarships are available. If you are interested in applying, do not register online. Download the Red Apple application from the Red Apple Scholarships page, or email safari@denverzoo.org or call us at 303-376-4888, option 8 to have an application sent to you. Please mail or fax in the completed application, and we will notify you within two weeks as to whether or not the scholarship has been awarded.
IF I HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING SUMMER SAFARI, WHOM CAN I CONTACT?
Call 303-376-4888 option 8 or email safari@denverzoo.org. Our phone lines are very busy once registration opens, so if you reach our voicemail, please leave a detailed message; we will return your call as quickly as we possibly can. Thank you! |
