How can we be of assistance?
Denver Zoo is committed to exceeding the standards set for visitors with special needs. Full-service restroom facilities that accommodate the physically challenged are available in Tropical Discovery, Primate Panorama and the Gates Center. Baby changing stations are available at all locations. Please note: All security officers or any staff person can assist with lost persons, first aid and lost and found. Denver Zoo is a non-smoking facility.
Baby Strollers, Wagons, Motorized Wheel Chairs and Adult Pushchairs:
Visit the Wagon Rental at the main entrance for rental of wagons ($6.00), strollers ($4.00), pushchairs ($4.00) and double safari wagons ($9.00). We also have Motorized Wheel Chairs which are available for $25.00 (must be 18 years of age to operate; no reservations can be made, it is first come first served).
Safari Shuttle:
For only $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for children and seniors, you can ride in the comfort of an open-air electric vehicle that tours the Zoo paths at regular intervals. Pay one price and ride all day! An ADA-equipped car is available with limited seating.
The shuttle runs Friday-Sundays and holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Tickets can be purchased from the tram driver only. The stops are located at the main entrance (near the Wild Encounters in front of Gates Center), near Northern Shores (across from the giraffe house meadow), the old west gate and by the train/carousel. It completes a full cycle approximately every twenty minutes. (Safari Shuttle will only be operating Friday - Sunday and holidays this year, Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, weather permitting.)

All aboard! Climb aboard the Pioneer Train at Denver Zoo. Perfect for families with little ones, the train offers a quick trip around the zoo’s carousel meadow filled with beautiful lush foliage, under the shade of 100-year-old trees. For $2, hop aboard and enjoy seeing our American and Chilean flamingos and other waterfowl just outside the zoo’s primate panorama exhibit. Denver Zoo’s Pioneer Train is the first natural gas-powered zoo train in any zoo in the United States.
